What is the SWIFT/BIC code format used in Rwanda?

Is IBAN mandatory in Rwanda?

Cross-border payments and banking in Rwanda: Payments to Rwanda must include all required information to avoid cancellations. The Remitter should obtain bank information from the Beneficiary such as SWIFT BIC, account number, and bank address. A copy of the beneficiary’s identity card may be needed. Include full names and addresses for both ordering and beneficiary customers without using initials. Also include SWIFT BIC with branch identifier where necessary. The reason for the payment is recommended, and RWF is a zero decimal currency.
